'Artist,' 'Tinker' lead BAFTA race
LONDON -- Quiet black-and-whitened pic "The Artist" and British espionage thriller "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy" lead those for BAFTA nominations, that have been introduced working in london early Tuesday morning. "The Artist" acquired 12 nominations, including best film, actor for Jean Dujardin and director for Michel Hazanavicius, while "Mess Tailor" nabbed 11 nominations, including film, outstanding British film, director for Tomas Alfredson and actor for Gary Oldman. Martin Scorsese's three dimensional pic "Hugo" received nine nominations, including cinematography, editing and special visual effects. The helmer can also be up for director for that pic, and the docu "George Harrison: Residing in the fabric World" is nominated within the documentary category, an award that BAFTA debuts this season. "My Week With Marilyn" gained six nods, including outstanding British film and actress for Michelle Williams, while "The AssistanceInch and "War Equine" each got five nods, including film and cinematography correspondingly. "Drive," "The Iron Lady" and "Harry Potter and also the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2" each received four noms, while "The Descendants," "Moneyball," "Senna" and "We have to Discuss Kevin" all have three nominations each. Best film nominations visit "The Artist," "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy," "The Descendants," "The AssistanceInch and "Drive." Outstanding British film nominations visited "My Week With Marilyn," "Mess Tailor Soldier Spy," "Senna," "Shame" and "We have to Discuss Kevin."Joe Cornish's "Attack the Block," Rob Fiennes' "Coriolanus," Paddy Considine's "Tyrannosaur," Richard Ayoade's "Submarine," and can Ho and Tom Kingsley's "Black Pond" counseled me up for outstanding debut with a British author, director or producer. "Black Pond," possibly less well-known since it's rivals within the category, stars Chris Langham and Simon Amstell, and sees an english family as well as their Japanese friend charged with murder whenever a stranger dies in the dining room table. Kaira Pitt ("Moneyball"), Oldman ("Mess Tailor"), George Clooney ("The Descendants"), Dujardin ("The Artist") and Michael Fassbender ("Shame") all compete within the best actor category, while Berenice Bejo ("The Artist"), Meryl Streep ("The Iron Lady"), Michelle Williams ("My Week With Marilyn"), Tilda Swinton ("We have to Discuss Kevin") and Viola Davis ("The AssistanceInch) will all compete within the best actress category. Those who win is going to be revealed at London's Royal Opera House on February. 12 in a ceremony located by Stephen Fry.
